Industry Expert Joins Solgar Team
LEONIA, NJ (February 19, 2008)—James J. Gormley has been named Associate Director, Communications at Solgar Vitamin and Herb. Gormley will be responsible for overseeing strategic communications for the premium brand.
An award-winning journalist, published author, and member of the prestigious American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA), Gormley has twenty years of experience in health-related media communications. He is a board member and senior policy advisor for Citizens for Health and a scientific advisory board member for the National Health Research Institute (NHRI). Gormley has also served on the National Product Association’s (NPA) communications committee since 1996.

Prior to joining Solgar, Gormley was editorial director at VRM Inc., where he directed three leading trade magazines. He is perhaps best known for having served as the longtime Editor-in-Chief of Better Nutrition magazine (1995 to 2002). A longtime consumer health advocate, Gormley has also been a frequent guest on television and national radio where he has spoken out on a variety of health and regulatory issues.
